Vertikal Planter
The “vertical planter”, by Buster Simpson, is a re-designed drain system where rainwater gets captured in the upturned branches. All kinds of moss and grass seeds will eventually sprout in the upturned branches - planters and make the city even more green. In Seattle, where it rains a lot, this idea is very compelling.

Forest Head
Silvas Capitalis (forest head) 2009 by SIMPARCH is an iconic head, on the grounds of the Kielder forest, located near the Scottish border. Large enough to enter into with stairs to a 2nd floor, this large anthropomorphic offering was inspired by the Celtic gods of Britain whom are frequently anonymous and depicted merely by the head alone.
Each of the 107 layers of a plywood maquette were scanned and enlarged to make full scale paper templates. The lumber was cut to the drawing and stacked/glued/pegged together, then shaped with chainsaw and grinder.

Canopy rafts
Canopy rafts are extraordinary things. they're basically enormous nets attached to an inflatable frame and are dropped onto trees from airships, resulting in a viewing platform like no other which can also be used as a base from which to hang using climbing gear. the raft above is the solvin bretzel, a new design by gilles ebersolt.
